What is this?Seidman Investment Portfolio Organization (IPO) has recently began a legacy to partner with local firms through our annual golf outing. This helps to facilitate relationships between our members and industry experts interested in sponsoring our continued financial knowledge.
This past year's golf outing was held at the Meadows Club House on Saturday, September 20, 2025. The tournament was an 18-hole, four-person scramble. We are excited for the next event! |

Who we areSeidman Investment Portfolio Organization, originally founded in 1976 as “GVSU Finance Club”, has been a staple within Grand Valley State University’s business school for nearly a decade. Seidman Investment Portfolio Organization, known as “Seidman IPO”, provides students with a chance to get a face-to-face education outside of the classroom focusing on networking skills, interview tactics, and financial literacy.
Seidman IPO has introduced our, “Analyst Training Program”, which provides students a detailed introduction into finance with our student-developed 10-week course focusing on information regarding public and private equities, accounting principles, and both microeconomic and macroeconomic trends within our US markets. Seidman IPO has helped place 100’s of students into top-tier firms throughout the nation by giving them a head start on what the “real” job field is looking for. We do this by bringing in well-known individuals in financial positions within the community, introducing students to our well-established alumni network throughout Grand Rapids. |
